To pick just one simple change is a tall order, but nothing quite represents what February 5 is attempting -identifying one specific modification to business as usual to force change- than our third priority issue as #ChooseYourDoc.

The broad topic is Healthcare.  The specific change is to remove the concept of in-network and out-of-network health care.  If the provider is credentialed to practice medicine in the state, we believe the individual should be able to choose their provider and maximize their insurance benefits.

This isn’t simply about choose the doc you want, but about truly leveraging the free market in health care.  We don’t have a free market.  Prices are negotiated by 40 or so insurance companies.  We don’t’ know the true cost of services.  But we do know where the bloat is.

Freeing up individuals to negotiate prices though choosing their own doc is the first step to fixing healthcare.
